Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware she was going to become an actress and for several years, she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught performing and singing. At the age of ten the actress took part in and played the leading role in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It also was the most successful film in 2001. Opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film, as well as the performance by three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma's performance was nominated and later won awards for the movie.
