Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington located in Ohio left high school in order to move in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. The actress was able to secure an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress on Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. The show ended in 2005 and Grace would like to be more prominently in film having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a young teenager with small parts in a few films directed by her father. In addition, she was a part of her brother in the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. Later, she was on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both movies were critically acclaimed. Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021, with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
